How Jaipur city tours differ
Jaipur's main sights lie close together in the walled old city: the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the bazaars. Others are spread out, such as the Albert Hall Museum in Ram Niwas Garden and the forts above the city. A tour can cover one area on foot or several by car.
The national tourism board suggests spreading Jaipur over four days. One day combines the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal and the Albert Hall Museum. The forts get a separate day. That is a suggested plan, not a promise that every interior fits into one day.

Tour types compared
Prices differ by provider and date, so check the live offers below.
| Type | What it is | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Walking tour | A guide leads you through lanes and bazaars on foot | Meeting point, length, and whether it enters any monument |
| Car with driver | A vehicle and driver for the day, you choose the stops | Hours, stops, entry tickets and guide are usually separate |
| Guided day by car | A guide and a vehicle on a fixed route | Which entries are included, language, pickup and cancellation |
| Guide inside a monument | A local guide for one site such as the City Palace | Whether the guide is booked with or without the ticket |
A tour that names the Hawa Mahal does not have to include a visit inside. A guided tour, entry ticket and driver are separate services, so read what the price covers.

What to ask before you book
The same five questions work for any provider.
Is the entry ticket included?
Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the Albert Hall Museum use the state rates on the tickets page. The City Palace has its own prices. A low tour price may leave all of this out.
Do you go inside or only pass by?
Some tours list the Hawa Mahal as a front view. If you want the view from behind the windows, make sure the tour includes the visit.
Where does it start, and how long is it?
Check the meeting point, the pickup and the duration. Match the day to the opening hours, because the Hawa Mahal closes at 4:30 or 5 p.m..
Which language is the guide?
Look for the language in the tour description and read recent reviews.
What is the cancellation rule?
Check whether you can cancel, and until when, for your date.
A walk through the old city
A route with craft lanes and temples between the main sights.
The city's heritage walk project runs from the Museum of Legacies, at the Rajasthan School of Arts on Kishanpole Bazaar, to Chaura Rasta and the Film Colony. It passes lanes such as Maniyaron Ka Rasta and Thatheron Ka Rasta. The route is described by the city as a theme walk. It is not a daily guide service you can simply join, so check whether a guided version is on offer on your date.
You can also build your own walk from the Pink City page and the bazaars. If your main interest is eating, a food tour is a better fit than a sightseeing tour.
Forts and day trips
These need their own day.
The Amber Fort, Jaigarh, Nahargarh and the Jal Mahal lie outside the old city. Tours that include them are usually a separate day from the old-city sights. Tours of the Amber Fort and the other forts are compared on our sister site. If you are coming from Delhi, the Jaipur from Delhi page covers the trains and the road.
For the sights themselves, see the City Palace page, which lists its closures, and the Jantar Mantar page.
Jaipur city tours: frequently asked questions
How many days do I need for Jaipur?
The national tourism itinerary suggests four days. One day covers the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal and the Albert Hall Museum, and another covers the forts. With less time, pick the old city first.
Does a city tour include the Hawa Mahal entry ticket?
Not always. Some tours only stop for a front view. Read the inclusions in the tour description, and see the tickets page for the 2026 rates.
Is a guide needed to see the old city?
No. The main sights lie close together and you can walk between them. A guide helps with context and with the lanes, and is useful at the City Palace or Jantar Mantar.
Should I book a car and driver instead of a tour?
It suits you if you want to set the stops and the pace. Tickets and a guide are usually separate costs, so add them up before you compare with a tour price.
Where do tours to the forts fit in?
They need a separate day. See the Amber Fort guide linked above for those.
